TOP 3 BEST NATURAL WEED KILLER

Are you trying to achieve that picture-perfect, weed-free, lush grass and garden? Aiming for this perfection using traditional means may be effectively killing your weeds but did you know it’s also exposing you, your family, and pets to lethal levels of toxins? You can easily avoid this by using one or all of our Top 3 Best Natural Weed Killer solutions.

A study by the journal Toxicology, reports that weed killer containing glyphosate are toxic to human reproductive cells and threaten to cause prostate and testicular cancer.  “Symptoms could be so subtle, they would be easy to overlook. These herbicides really lock in on testosterone,” says Theo Colborn, President of The Endocrine Disruption Exchange.”

The researchers’ most disturbing finding was those ingredients labeled “inert” when combined with glyphosate increase mobility and more direct access to the cells.  “These chemicals are designed to kill cells,” according to Vincent Garry, professor emeritus of pathology at the University of Minnesota.  And, the research shows that they don’t discriminate between human and plant cells. The International Agency for the Research on Cancer, part of the World Health Organization, has also found glyphosate is likely to cause cancer but the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, found otherwise.

How can the FDA allow this?

Herbicide manufacturers are subject to fewer rules in the testing of ‘inert’ ingredients than they are for active ingredients, explains Caroline Cox, Research Director at the Center for Environmental Health in Oakland, Calif.  The FDA requires testing for birth defects, cancer, and genetic damage only on ‘active’ ingredients. The FDA can not detect this when analyzing the ingredients separately.  In combination, the effects are amplified significantly.

LEGAL UPDATE

The courts are finally recognizing the detrimental impact of glyphosate (largely Roundup) and to date have awarded three verdicts totaling an astonishing $2.2 billion to plaintiffs who contracted various cancers from extended exposure to the weed killer.

Monsanto’s parent company, Bayer was able to recently negotiate verbal agreements to resolve a substantial portion of an approximate 125,000 U.S. non-hodgkin lymphoma cancer, class action lawsuit over use of its Roundup weedkiller. Bayer has reserved approximately $10 billion to settle 50,000 to 85,000 lawsuits currently pending. Under terms of the deals, Roundup will continue to be sold in the U.S. for use in backyards and farms without any safety warning.

In June 2020, a federal judge ruled that Bayer AG’s Roundup won’t require a label in California warning consumers that a chemical in the weed killer is known to cause cancer. The judge, U.S. District Judge William B. Shubb, determined that it would be “misleading and a violation of free-speech protections.”

OPTIONS

Either kill weeds in your garden with a deadly toxin or find a natural alternative. Seems like an easy choice!  Here are a few of our top picks for organic weed killer for weed removing success:

SPRAY

Quick acting and all natural organic weed killer! Here’s an easy natural recipe:

Mix 1/2 gallon white vinegar (everyday 5% household white vinegar works fine)

1 cup epsom salts

1-2 tablespoons dish soap

Soap helps the solution stick to the weeds.  Funnel into spray bottle and drench weeds on a dry, sunny day for best results.

Weeds will die within several days and won’t return.  (WARNING: Do not drench soil in grass or garden areas that you would eventually like to use for growing as it will also kill microbes in healthy soil). Pour leftover solution into an airtight container, label (you can drink it but you wouldn’t want to!), and store in a cool, dark spot indefinitely.
